Summerdale PD Chief Seriously Injured

SUMMERDALE, Ala. (WPMI) The Summerdale Police Department tells us Chief Eddie Ingram was seriously injured Thursday night while apprehending a fugitive. He is expected to undergo leg surgery Friday morning at Thomas Hospital.

At this time Chief Ingram is unable to walk. We're told Major Trent Dennis will be taking over as acting police chief for the time being.

We'll bring you an update on Chief Ingram's condition later this morning.
