GULF SHORES, Ala. (WPMI) Stevie Wonder has been added to the list of musical acts for the 2013 Hangout Music Festival in Gulf Shores. He's joining Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers and Kings of Leon as headliners.
The festival is expected to have an impact of about $30 million with tickets, hotels, food, you name it.
"Stevie Wonder is one of these people that we want to see perform and we've seen him for years. Everybody knows him regardless of the generation. He's on everybody's list of 'I'd like to see him in concert,' and now everybody has the opportunity to do that," said Brad Cohen, manager at the Hangout Restaurant in Gulf Shores.
The festival is slated for the weekend of May 17-19.
"Ticket sales are going great exceeding expectations and another indicator that we've made great decisions on the people that we're bringing here," said Cohen.
