(ROBERTSDALE, Ala.) New information about a Robertsdale man charged with murdering his 2 year old son. Micah Harrison, 30, was arrested Wednesday night in Indiana. Officers found the toddler inside an apartment with significant trauma to his head. Two other children were with Harrison at the apartment.

The crime scene may be miles away but Harrison is well known. Harrison has a long history of local arrests in Baldwin County.

"The latest incident....he was in our jail on some old warrants for failing to appear on traffic charges and that was in 2012," said Capt. Steve Arthur with the Baldwin County Sheriff's Office. The arrest and complaint record for Harrison goes back as far as 2003 including domestic violence, fights with neighbors, assault and drug use.

Neighbors say Harrison was a troubled man, at times addicted to meth and prescription drugs. Lynn Bainbridge owns a guest house next door to Harrison's grandparent's property. Harrison lived in a home on the property with his wife and three children.

"Even though I had only talked to him a few times over the years I knew what the background was," said Bainbridge.

The tragic news from Indiana traveled fast. Bainbridge who is also a church counselor in Robertsdale remembers the Harrison kids.

"To see those kids playing in the swimming pool this summer and just being out there riding their little tricycles its just hard to believe that that baby is gone," said Bainbridge.

"Mr. Harrison was the subject of at least three domestic violence incidents however was not ever officially charged with domestic violence cases," said Arthur.

Police in Indiana say Harrison stabbed his 2 year old son Michael to death. Harrison's mother who he was visiting in Indiana at the time says her son attacked a closet door with a hammer and then she saw him stab his son.

"Your heart goes out to the family of this small child so its as tough call but he was visiting family there I understand. This very well could have happened in Baldwin County," said Arthur.

It's not known if Harrison was on drugs when the stabbing took place. Those who know him don't doubt there was.

"I think a lot of us today have been touched by what addiction does to someone's life," said Bainbridge.
