(MOBILE, Ala.) - LOCAL 15 News loves to see local restaurants cleaning up their act. When they do, we believe it deserves to be pointed out.
Bama Belle's Country Kitchen located inside the Rest Inn Hotel on Government Boulevard must have felt like their low score was left to simmer longer than most. October 2009, they were cited for several infractions that ended with them only serving up 75 points on their surprise inspection. Four months later, the breakfast hangout is not only a hit with the grits and gravy crowd--they are also whipping up a "recipe" to impress the food police.
Bama Belle's Country Kitchen earns an improved score of 90 during their follow up inspection.
Also on the road to recovery, KFC/Long John Silver located on McKenzie Street in Foley. Last time they had a score of 79. This week, KFC/Long John Silver is "reeling" in an impressive 94.
Gugliemo's Italian Grill is also earning redemption in re-inspection. Last time they had a below average score average 81. This week Gugliemo’s Italian Grill has a new and improved score of 90.
Still some work to do at the Godfather’s Pizza in Gulf Shores. Last time they had a below average rating of 78. Inspector’s February 10th report shows things are improving, but the workers at the pizza chain should brush up on their homework. Godfather’s Pizza in Gulf Shores serving up back to back below average scores this week, 83.
