(Baldwin County, Ala.  December 31st—As the world welcomes in 20-10 with spectacular celebrations that include fireworks and cheers, the party has already fizzled out for a few of your favorite for a few of your favorite hangouts here at home. In this week’s Restaurant Scorecard, Local 15’s Varion Walton tells us many are ushering in the New Year with low scores.

It will be something of a bitter sweet celebration for several restaurants with a history of good scores through out 2009. They are now ending the year at the bottom of the food inspector's list.

First stop this week, Miflin BP in the Town of Elberta.  Inspector’s December 18 report shows rat droppings,  hot food held out of temperature , just to name a few. Miflin BP’s rating for the final week of 2009?  Try a deplorable score of 69.

Next Magnolia Court Management located on McKenzie Street in Foley. Inspector's December 23rd report shows, a presence of drain flies, low to no amount of sanitizer in the dishwasher and raw food stored over ready to eat food. That is considered to be a serious threat of cross contamination. Magnolia Court Management in Foley is also ending their final health inspection for 2009 with a below average score of 72.

Elsewhere, The Foley Coffee Shop also located on N. McKenzie Street in Foley.  Inspector’s December 23rd report shows a problem with the sanitizer, raw food stored over ready to eat food and they were reminded to date mark their PHF levels. The Foley Coffee Shop serves “brewing” over a below average score of 77.

Finally, Baldwin County Health officials say The Flying Tuna located on Wharf Parkway in Orange Beach had no major problems with their food.  However, inspector's December 22nd report shows they had a bit of mildew inside the ice machine and a few drain flies.  The Flying Tuna is just one point shy of a passing mark this week, their health score 84-out of 100 possible points.

On the other side of the Mobile Bay, The Port City has had a relatively good year.  In fact, the last 6 weeks of 2009 brought in fewer failing scores in Mobile.  Again this week when it comes to scores in Mobile--close, but no cigar.

Mobile County Health inspectors discovered a few problems with the cooler at the Tiny Diny Restaurant on Halls Mill Road. Local 15 News spoke with a manager on duty who says that same day a repair man was on the sight about to repair the cooler when inspectors walked in.  Other than the busted cooler, everything else was in compliance. Still, The Tiny Diny Restaurant ends 2009 with Mobile County’s lowest health rating with a score of 84,
