(BALDWIN CO., Ala.) - Baldwin County Sheriff's investigators are working to identify human remains found in Lillian Monday night, a spokesperson confirmed Tuesday.
A neighbor, who did not want to be identified, said his teen son found what he thought was a human skull. He said the boy took a picture of it and showed the father.

"Investigators arrived on the scene around 9:00pm [Monday] and determined the scene would need to be held by deputies until a daylight search could be conducted," Maj. Anthony Lowery said in an email to Local 15 News.

Investigators went back to the scene Tuesday morning to process the scene for evidence, the email said. Lowery confirmed remains were found and were subsequently sent to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences in Mobile, he added.

Lowery did not say if investigators have determined if the remains were from a man or woman or how the person died.

The case remains under investigation, he said.
