(PRICHARD, Ala.) - The future of Prichard Water Works is still very muddy.

A statewide amendment could dissolve Prichard Water, turning over control to the Mobile Area Water and Sewer System.

Although official results from the amendment have not been announced, Prichard's water board has decided to challenge the constitutionality of the amendment.

The board's attorney Jay Ross says he will file suit Monday.

Fix the leaks? Are you kidding? That would mean making life better for the people they are ripping off! The folks on the Prichard water board are CROOKS, SCAMMERS AND LIARS. The reason they do not want the board dissolved (IMHO) is because when everything is turned over to another entity a lot of dirty laundry will be exposed and the stench will probably reach to high heaven. They know some of them are heading to jail. Now the court ought to just dismiss the suit without blinking an eye! I am sorry. It is just getting to the point where Zantac can't even help my depression. I live in Prichard and I work in a "clinical" department of USA. I voted for the amendment to dissolve the water board, I voted for the amendment USA pushed down employee throats. Now the amendments have passed and there seems to be no light at the end of the tunnel. Christmas was supposed to be a bit of relief for my family. We were so looking for the bonus and now that is gone too. I have to sing for my church today and I don't even know where I will find the strength. I am going to sing Encourage yourself. I pray that as I sing the Lord will move like he did in the bible. I need strength to go on in the face of so much so much injustice. Those of you who know the word of prayer pray for me and my coworkers at USA and those of us who live in Prichard because tears are flowing from my eyes right now and I just don't know what to do.

I'm curious. The Prichard Water Board authorized $100,000 to be spent on advertising against the amendment, then apparently intends to spend more money on a frivolous lawsuit. An audit needs to be performed to see who all is getting money besides the retirees. Amazing how much money an attorney can make during a bankruptcy.

IfMobile County has a decent District Attorney the Prichard Water Board would have no members left free and out of jail. The Water board has been a hodge podge for corruption for years and if they we're audited like most Boards are the citizens of Prichard would see what kind of scam these people have been running for decades now. Wille Huntley, a Mobile Black lawyer that was and may still be linked to the Water Board was getting paid in excess of 20K some months for legal fees and where was all that cash ending up at? I suspect that the Water Board has misused the funds for decades now and that is why the water rates were perhaps ten times higher than other municipalities similar to Prichard. It all falls back on the Mobile DA going back to before John Tyson days as DA. There has never been an investigation or unbiased audit by the DA or any inquiry by the State of Alabama when once was needed. Now we have another scumbag lawyer that wants to file suit to go against the wishes of the Prichard citiizens in their quest to legally dissolve the corrupt board and seek much lower rates from MAWSS. Attorney Jay York must see this action as an attempt to save his crooked clients and protect his board representation exorbitant fees that promote his high life style.

If they have the funds to file a suit in the courts them please fix the water leaks first, and get the brown silt out of the pipes.
