(PRICHARD, Ala.) - Prichard Police are looking for two people who they say posed as Prichard Water Works contractors in order to steal an elderly woman's checks.

They say Michael Mitchell, 31, and Christina McMillen, 30, posed as contractors in order to get the 94-year-old woman to allow them into her home.  They say the couple had an infant with them at the time.

They say once the suspects gained the victim's trust, McMillen distracted her while Mitchell stole checks from her purse.  A few weeks later, the woman told police her bank account was missing $3,380.

Police say Mitchell drives an older model Ford F-150 pickup truck.  McMillen has active warrants with the Escambia County, Florida Sheriff's Office and the Pensacola Police Department.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Prichard Police Department at 251-452-2211.
