(PENSACOLA, Fla.) - A Pensacola woman was arrested and charged with four counts of aggravated child abuse after authorities discovered she severely beat four children with a belt.
Officials say the abuse was discovered when a three year old in the woman's care was taken to Baptist Hospital after choking on a hot dog. The child died. An autopsy discovered several injuries unrelated to the death. The child's injuries were at various points of healing and consistent with him being whipped with a belt.
Police arrested 27 year old Nicole Renee Henderson Friday, after an investigation determined three of four other children living with Henderson had also been beaten with a belt. The children, ages two to six, are now under the care of the Department of Children and Family Services.
Police say the investigation into this case is still ongoing, and more charges may be possible.
