(PENSACOLA, Fla.) - Pensacola Police have released the names of two men who were shot by officers Thursday in the Cordova Park area.
They have been identified 20-year-old Desmond Phillip and 18-year-old Jo'Kavius Wilson. Both men are now facing charges, including assault on a law enforcement officer and vehicle theft.
It all started when officers Patrick Bradley and Justin Roedel were patrolling the Cordova Park area.
Officers say Phillip and Wilson were acting suspiciously. They tried to question them, but the men got in an SUV and tried to run them down.
That's when the officers fired, wounding one in the shoulder and the other in the leg. We have been told that they were released from the hospital.
The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is investigating the shootings, which is standard procedure.
