The scientific facts may be interesting to some but are totally irrelevant. The bottom line is the police need to do their job. If the person who hit these people was green or white (since I guess a green person would fall into the category of a minority)should be treated fairly and charged accordingly. This demographic are not the only ones distracted by these inane things but bet your bottom dollar it is going to be publicized more than the majority. Stacking charges against this person, especially if not warranted, will not send a message to anyone. People will continue to be people regardless of age, raace, sex, or any other label you want to add. I'm not condoning the actions of this person but why does everything have to go back to race? The big picture is that someone has lost their life, another person is injured, and the accused life is forever changed all be it was due to her own actions. She will have to live with the fact that she has taken something she can not replace, a life!

SCIENTIFIC FACTS: "RACIAL AND ETHNIC MINORITIES ARE DISPROPORTIONATELY KILLED IN TRAFFIC CRASHES, COMPARED WITH THE MUCH LARGER NON-HISPANIC WHITE POPULATION." ... "Race and ethnicity data from FARS indicated that for people killed in motor vehicle traffic crashes, those who can be classified as in minority populations, except Asians and Pacific Islanders) were more often driving while intoxicated, less often validly licensed, and less likely to be wearing safety belts than the general population." ... "Black drivers killed had the highest percentage with one or more prior speeding convictions." ... "Not using safety belts and child safety seats was also a problem in the black community, but the most salient observation for African Americans is the disproportionately large number of children killed who were not vehicle occupants." ... "More than half of African American, Native American, and Hispanic or Latino children under 5 years of age were not in child safety seats." --Race and Ethnicity in Fatal Motor Vehicle,Traffic Crashes, 1999-2004. The DA's office needs to send a message and they need to stack as many charges against this woman as possible and that will ensure hard prison time. I hope they got a blood sample from her when she was arrested. IF NOT, THEY CAN GET A COURT ORDER NOW FOR A HAIR SAMPLE AND SEE IF SHE WAS UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ANY NARCOTICS WHEN SHE FLED THE SCENE OF THIS NOW FATAL WRECK. IT WAS NO ACCIDENT. The woman simply wasn't paying attention, was texting, or distracted by any number of inane things that distract this demographic. Statistics don't lie.
