U know what's really funny the fact that people who get pleasure out of killing animals is even caring about life period

There is a law in Alabama prohibiting dogs from running on someone else's property and my Husband had a warrant signed against him for it just a month ago from our wonderful neighbor who is a deer hunter. At least my dogs are still alive but are shut up in a pen that they have never been in for 3 years. We live in the middle of nowhere and live beside a JERK obviously. Don't think there is a law? think again. Look under Alabama Dog Laws. We are proof it exists. It is very sickening how deer hunters hate dogs the way they do and are willing to kill someones beloved pet just to have a "Trophy Head" on their wall. My Pets are my children! It make me wonder about your $1000.00 reward. How can this be when Crenshaw County Alabama is saying that it is a LAW??? I think some people need to get there story straight. My Husband now has a record for our dogs! How crazy is that??? I can honestly see why people go crazy and start shooting because I am almost there. I really hate it for the dogs that got shot, I really do. But what about my situation? Why is it ok for my neighbor to threaten to shoot my dogs and my Husband gets arrested for it? trkyhntr, Please attempt to be less foolish with your words. I'm not doubting you have seen bad dog hunters, but you cant call all dog hunters bad because you seen a bad one. Just like its foolish of me to think all "tree stand" hunters will shoot dogs. That's basically saying anyone how wears a white tank top beats his wife. Please use a few brain cells. I can assure you sir no dog hunter wants there dogs on any ones land they cant hunt. Simply because we cant hunt it, its a waste of our time and we have to sit around waiting for them to come out. I can also assure you we do everything possible to prevent it from happening. I along with many dog hunters have thousands of dollars invested in equipment to keep track of them and try and prevent this issue from happening but sometimes you just cant. And trust me, I haven't invested all this time and money so I can abuse my dogs, they live better then most pets. My thoughts and prayers go out to these hunters, and hope that justice is served.

hey trkyHntr, stick to chasing birds because you are obviously of the equivalent mindset. your description of dog hunters is disgusting and misleading and your opinion is far from the reality of how hunting with dogs achieved. your'e the kind of A-hole that peta and other anti-hunting groups feed off of. i hope when the hunting of any game animal is banned, you are happy with yourself. people like you should really learn to keep your opinions to your damn self. I have hunted my entire life with dogs, so ask me how many dogs i have shot for underperforming? thats right NONE. Ask how long my pack stays with me? thats right, until old age takes them from me! so before you go spouting your lack of knowledge about something you obviously have an agenda towards, to people who dont know the real truth and may take your comments as such, how about instead, you chalk up your call box and play with your bird decoy and keep your opinion to yourself..

Oh, and in regards to Mrs. Maples post. I love dogs and I hate to see them get hurt. I know your comments were made out of genuine concern for the dogs and their welfare. However, in growing up around the sport (I am 38) let me tell you how the dogs are treated by theses dog hunters. They are dropped out one morning in the middle of a road. They get the scent of a deer and are off to the races, sometimes for 20 miles or more. I have seen the same pack of dogs run from daylight to dark, and I have seen many die of exhaustion. The ones that run deer get fed, and the ones won't run deer do no... or worse taken to a designated spot and shot. These dog hunters don't car about those dogs, don't let them fool you. They are coveted only if they run deer. The ones that won't are thrown away like trash. I don't understand why this form of hunting has not been abolished in this state. Dog hunters turn out dogs and then line roads waiting on the deer to cross. Every season houses, and vehicles are shot. Call the state and ask them how many tickets the Game Wardens issued last season to dog hunters hunting on public roads. The results will shock you. Ask the South Alabama farmer how he feels. The guy who politely declined to let a group run his property, and woke up the next morning with his barn on fire. You see what I am getting at?

I suspect that we aren't hearing the whole story. More than likely this "victim" dog club has been asked several times to keep their dogs off of these peoples property. Like most cases, the dog runners don't care and just run their dogs on other peoples land without regard for the landowners or the private lease owners. It's the dog hunters responsibility to keep his dogs off of private land that he has no permission to hunt. When his dogs cross that property line he is effectively hunting land he has no permission to be on. That is illegal, and I suspect that if the roles were reversed he would not be forthcoming if the non doghunting hunters helped themselves to hunt his property. If you don't want your dogs shot or hurt, keep them on your property. It's really that simple. Yet you won't catch them before they cross boundary lines and that's where you run into trouble. I don't have any symapathy for you dog hunters....... cry me a river. If you had done what you were responsible for doing your dogs would still be with you. Think about that for a moment.

These people should be prosecuted! That was downright meaness to do that to an animal.Something must be wrong with that clark County sherrif to say there was nothing he could do! It makes me sick. A person who would do that to an animal would also do a human the same way!
