Rape Suspect Sister Speaks Out

(MONROEVILLE, Ala.) Nov. 20 -- A stunning development in a story that's had our community on edge this week. A 14-year-old girl who authorities believe had been gang-raped, might herself be charged in the crime.

Already arrested are Steven Scott, 20, Justin Williams, 17 and Deshon Riley, 16. They are charged with the first degree rape of a 14-year-old girl.

But a second girl, another 14 year old who authorities believed had been victimized as well, told LOCAL 15 News in an exclusive interview Thursday the sex was consensual.

Now, Tamaya Riley, 18, the sister of now accused rapist Riley says she's talked to her brother since his arrest and he's told her very few details about the alleged crime. But she did ask him one question specifically-- did you rape those girls?

Tamaya Riley says her brother told her he'd had sex with the alleged victims before.

One of the alleged victims had to be taken to the hospital because she couldn't stop bleeding and had internal injuries so severe she required surgery. Tamaya Riley expressed sympathy for her, but says that both she and her family believe her brother is telling the truth.

The grand jury meets later this month, the district attorney says all three suspects could face additional charges.
