MOBILE, Ala. (AP) - Funeral arrangements are being made for a Mobile police officer who was fatally stabbed while bringing a suspect to jail.

Radney Funeral Home in Mobile says the funeral for Officer Steve Green will be held Wednesday at Sunlight Church in neighboring Prichard. The funeral home will host a visitation on Tuesday evening.

Police say Green was killed Friday while transporting a robbery suspect to the Mobile County Metro Jail. The suspect, 24-year-old Lawrence Wallace Jr. fled in Green's patrol car and later shot and wounded another officer during a standoff with police. The confrontation ended with police shooting and killing the suspect. Green had served as a Mobile police officer since May 2010. Police say the 36-year-old officer had a wife and three children.
