JACKSON COUNTY, Miss. (WPMI) A man, once recognized as businessman of the year, has been sentenced to years behind bars.
John Timothy Stringfellow, 47, of Gautier pleaded guilty to two counts of manufacturing methamphetamine.
Stringfellow admitted to making meth at his home.
Officials say the community was put at risk, and this sentence should teach him a lesson.
District Attorney Tony Lawrence stated, “This case is an example of a person who has continuously chosen to violate the law by manufacturing methamphetamine in his home. I hope this seven year jail sentence sends a message that manufacturing methamphetamine will not be tolerated in Jackson County.”
Stringfellow was sentenced to 15 years in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections with seven years to serve in prison and the remaining eight years to serve on post release supervision.
