(MOBILE, Ala.) - Mobile Fire-Rescue crews worked to try and save a home on Greenway Drive North, but the flames were too big.
The fire caused severe damage and the home is now considered a total loss.
It was called in to 911 just before 1:00 a.m. Friday morning.
No one was home at the time, according to authorities. A neighbor called 911 right after it started.
"I went to turn out my porch light, and when I turned off the light it was still light bright outside," explains Sallie Martin. "When I looked through the blinds I saw the house fully engulfed in flames."
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
