(BELLVIEW, Fla.) Oct. 14 - Escambia County Sheriff David Morgan says the two surviving children are recovering after they were left alone for several days in a house with no food and water.

Investigators say their 18-month-old sister was discovered dead in a trash can outside the house in Bellview where they were found.

The children's mother, Christian Woods, 21, is jailed in Escambia County without bond, charged with manslaughter and aggravated child abuse.

Investigators say Woods admitted she left the 18-month-old twin little girls, Myleahya and MyKayla, and their 2-year-old brother, Jaterius, alone in their home for three days. Deputies discovered Mykayla under a bed, curled up in the fetal position. Mykayla was severely dehydrated and unconscious; her twin, Myleahya, was found dead.

Escambia County Sheriff David Morgan says MyKayla and Jaterius are recovering. The children are under the care of children's and family services in Florida.
