MOBILE, Ala. (WPMI) The planning commission has approved plans to build an apartment complex near Bel Air Mall.

Parkside Apartments will go up on Cottage Hill Road near the mall.

Some residents are against the build, saying the area is part of Wragg Swamp, marshlands, and they want it preserved.

Neighbors do have the option to appeal the decision.
