Alabama May Delay Tax Refunds

Alabama is one of several states considering withholding tax refunds for several months.

Budget shortfalls are forcing states to take drastic action.

In January, Alabama still owed $10 million in 2008 tax refunds.

If you are 1 day late filing even if they owe you money they take 50 dollars or a percentage, which ever is greater. Something is wrong with this picture!

does the state have to pay penalties and interest to the people they owe money to?? cause if it were the other way around you can bet the people would have to pay the state!!!
