MOBILE, Ala. (AP) - An Alabama man and a Nigerian woman have been convicted in a 2008 marriage scheme authorities say was aimed at defrauding immigration authorities.

AL.com reports Florence Chigozie Nna came to the United States in 2003 and attended the University of South Alabama on a track scholarship. Two years later, she married another track star who competed for the Nigerian Olympic team. Nna divorced the man and married Rodney Eugene Hill the following year. Authorities say the two were co-workers at a Salvation Army and submitted fraudulent leasing and utility documents to try supporting false claims that they lived together in a west Mobile apartment.

Nna is scheduled to be sentenced on April 30 and Hill is set to be sentenced on May 7.

if they wanted real punishment they should force them to live together as man and wife. that would fix them and serve as a deterrent to anyone else attempting such shenanigans.

This is only one small incident. I swear that I can't see why the state, feds, or anyone are wasting their time and our money with small stuff like this when the feds are giving their blessings to the millions of illegal immigrants that have crossed our borbers and are dropping babies right and left just to claim citizenship. Then we have King Obama trying to screw over all other "legalized" immigrants by trying to grant the illegals amnesty and citizenship because they need their votes just to get elected. I don't know how anyone can stand by and just let the king do what he wants whether it be right or wrong. It has to stop!
