(MOBILE, Ala.) - Crimson Tide star AJ McCarron's mom is fighting back after some racist comments were posted to her son's Facebook fan page.

It all surrounds pictures of AJ with Starla Chapman.

AJ has been visiting Starla for the past year and raises money for the 4-year old who is battling cancer.

AJ's mom, Dee Dee Bonner, says she had to delete dozens of racist posts from her son's fan page.

She says AJ is furious. After all, Starla is his Goddaughter.

McCarron and 4-year-old Starla Chapman have a special relationship that began last Christmas Eve in Mobile.

"They met and just had a connection we just can't explain," said Bonner.

Starla is battling acute myeloid leukemia.

Her cancer is now in remission. And one of her biggest fans is AJ.

"He loves her to death and she loves him," said Bonner.

The football star's Facebook fan page is flooded with pictures of Starla.

Shockingly, some comments AJ's mom Dee Dee Bonner found in response to those pictures were filled with hate and racism.

"They're lucky AJ couldn't get his hands on them. They've made comments not only about the color of skin, but just about kids with cancer in general, the way they look. It's just really disappointing," she said.

Bonner erases all racist remarks as quickly as she can.

But Local 15 found a comment beside a picture of AJ with President Barack Obama. It reads, "I hope you sanitized afterwards."

Bonner says posts she found beside photos of AJ and Starla hugging were similar.

"We've had several incidents. Him and Kenny Bell, there were some posts about him and Kenny hugging after a touchdown pass and there were negative posts about him hugging a black man. There were negative posts about him hugging TJ," said Bonner referring to McCarron's teammates.

Now, she has a simple message for fans

"If you feel that color is an issue, then AJ's fan page isn't for you," said Bonner.

AJ and Starla got to see each a few weeks ago. Starla's mom was able to bring her up for a home football game.

They hope to see each other again during the holidays.

@nowconcerned: By all means, don't let facts get in the way of your world view. Did you really graduate from Auburn? How did you do that without facts, statistics, and actually dealing with reality? You sound like you're eaten up with White guilt too. But don't worry, no one is asking you support the poor White people of the Appalachia, or the elderly White people who have no family. Here's a challenge to you: walk into the most 'diverse' and 'multi-cultural' area of your town at around midnight and report back your findings to the rest of us. I'd like to know how much love you were shown 'white girl.'

Ms. Bonner, I commend you for the active role you take in protecting your son as well as his fans. I am a big fan of your son. His sportsmanship on and off the field are a wonderful example to young and old people who are watching him. I have also prayed for and followed little Starla in her road to recovery. It is obvious from the pictures of those two together that this is more than just a photo opportunity. Thank you AJ for your love and support of this precious little girl. I am sorry for the hateful comments on his page and to this story. It is ignorance that allows the tongue to spew hatred, no matter what the color of a persons skin. To me it is an abuse of free speech, when you use your words to hurt someone, especially if it is a young person trying to be a positive influence in his world. To the folks on here ranting about statistics, lack of character and white people banding together shame on you. This is the type of ugliness that leads the best intentioned person to turn down the wrong path. Why not all people band together to help one another. Also, this is a "social media site" with even more opportunity to hide our identity and shout hatefulness, so you are not out of the social media circle. From a white girl, AUBURN fan raised in the South, be kind and love one another through your words and actions. Thats what my parents taught me.

The protections for Free Speech insofar as it relates to the government's prohibition against its infringement is just the type of speech that is claimed to be 'racist,' etc. I want to hear all sides and I'm not going to call you a racist if I disagree with you. The term 'racist' is over used and has no meaning whatsoever. It's merely a tool, like all other name calling, used to shut people up. For all intents and purposes I'm a 'racist,' and won't back down from my position because it's based upon scientific fact, criminal statistics, and the lack of character and content of certain demographic distributions, not the color of their skin. Whites need to begin to band together, work with each other, help our own. God knows the U.S. Government extorts and steals enough of our wealth and gives it to those parasites unwilling to work and who actually destroy what we have built.

White guilt knows no bounds. There is no such thing as 'racism.' There is only TRIBALISM. When blacks or Jews exercise tribalism, it's called 'civil rights,' but when White people exercise tribalism, it's called 'racism.' All of it is Jewish trickery. Maybe we could just "exterminate all White people" as this black college professor suggests when he was given time on CSPAN to spew his White genocidal views? http://bit.ly/zUFnFE

A lot about nothing!! No Facebook then no comments could be left. People can go inside a closet and utter words that disparage another person, people could go outside and alone in the woods and utter disparaging words towards someone else. The common denominator is that Facebook and internet social media sites allows those words to be published into the public domain and people do it to get others riled up like this is doing. It really makes the humans look stupid when printed and published words from unknown origins get folks upset. The level of intelligence in America has sunk to a level I'd never expected. I don't know who is more ignorant, the folks posting the nonsense, the people acting outraged by it or the media for whoring themselves out for lame and stupid topics and stories.

Dr. Martin Luther King had some wise words to the bigots: "Racism is a sickness unto death." The hatred will eat you up inside if you allow it. The only hope for this sorry world is that we learn to live peaceable with one another, despite our differences. There's room enough for everyone. Don't let hate destroy you ... It will.

There is a simple solution to this, don't get on Facebook and share your life with the world! Facebook is nothing more than a tool for narcissists and people with bloated egos. Who cares what a person that they don't even know does every minute and hour of their lives? It's the Internet folks, where faceless people that post words that can't hold them accountable to those words. I don't belong to any "social media sites" and will never belong to one. AJ's Mother or AJ should just cancel the Facebook web page and be done with it. There is no way that anyone can silence free speech even if it's hurtful and intolerant speech. The lame stream media loves stories like this one, they chase race and sex stories like dogs looking for bones. If you belong to Facebook and post every aspect of your entire life and you sometimes find things that aren't nice or agreeable with you then you're problems are much larger than faceless comments posted on the the worldwide Internet. I have officially lost all hope for society in general these days, the US citizentry intelligence level has completely hit rock bottom. When someone says "pass the salt" a Black will quickly scream racism and some moron in the news media will ask them how does it feel to be a victim of a blatant form of racism.
