(MOBILE COUNTY, Ala.) The Mobile County Sheriffs Office has arrested five people in the last two days for cooking meth. Two of the people are relatives.

On Sunday, deputies arrived on Astro Drive in Wilmer where they found a "shake and bake" meth lab. MCSO say they found Leslie Platt and Shannon McClure in a camper, with the meth lab. Platt is charged with trafficking meth, manufacturing meth, possession of a controlled substance and felony possession of drug paraphernalia. McClure had an active warrant for her arrest and was taken to Metro Jail, as well, deputies say.

Early Monday morning, deputies were called to Moffett Road in Wilmer for reports of a working meth lab in a home. Brandon Garrettson, John Hicks and Derrick Platt were arrested. Derrick Platt is the nephew of Leslie Platt who was arrested the day before.

"We are successful with our Meth Initiative because the public has taken full advantage of the tools given to them," Sheriff Sam Cochran said in a release. "Through our Meth Text program and our Crime Tips we are continuously making arrest of pill shoppers and meth cooks and putting them in jail."

This is all good and fine and I commend the Sheriff and his Deputies but we all know that these cretins will be back at the meth making in hours not days. And to make matters worse the judges and DA will give the suspects a nod and wink and silently signal for them to carry on with their filthy drug making quest. How I long for the day when people like this scum and poor example of humanity are taken binded in chains to Bienville Square and are looking up at the oak tree limb that they will be swinging from in a few moments. That would send a clear and decisive message that making and selling posionous drugs won't be tolerated.
