3-Year-Old Drinks Drano, Suspects Arrested for Cruelty Towards A Child

MILTON, Fla. (WPMI) A 3-year-old is in critical condition after drinking Drano from a sippy cup at an apartment where officials say meth was being made.

The Santa Rosa County Sheriff's Office arrested the parents of the child and four other people in connection with this incident.

Sheriff's officials were called Feb. 20 to an address on Pineywood Place Place in Milton. Officials tell Local 15 the call was initially a medical issue with a child, ingesting a liquid from a cup.

After an investigation, officers found that the liquid was Drano, and the individuals were making methamphetamines at the residence.

The child was transported to a medical facility and is still undergoing critical care.

Drano is a key ingredient in the production of the illegal drug.

During the evening hours of this incident, several individuals were involved in the production of methamphetamines at the residence.

The child was in the restroom at the time of the incident where the Draino was being stored in a kids sippy cup. While unsupervised, authorities say the child drank the Draino from the cup causing an immediate reaction.

Based on the results of the investigation, investigators obtained a Warrant for the arrest of Jonathan Glass. He's charged with one count of cruelty towards child/abuse that causes great bodily harm/disability, three counts possessing harmful new legend drug without prescription, four counts of drug possession without prescription, one count of opium or derivative trafficking and one count possessing or using drug equipment.

Victoria Lauren Cain, the child's mother, is facing charges related to this investigation.

Debbie A. Harris, John Q. Adams, Ronnie E. Olson and Justin E. Godwin are all facing serious charges in relation to this case.
