David Walton, who plays Sam on New Girl, may have just left Jess high and dry, but he'll have his hands full in NBC's adaptation of About a Boy, TVGuide.com has confirmed.
The Bent and Perfect Couples alum has landed in the leading role in Jason Katims' pilot about a bachelor whose primary goal in life is avoiding any kind of responsibility until he meets a geeky young boy.

Based on the film starring Hugh Grant, the pilot will be written by Parenthood's Katims, who will also executive-produce with Robert DeNiro, Tim Bevan, Eric Fellner and Jane Rosenthal. Jon Favreau will helm the pilot.
