Today's News: Our Take - Pilot Season: Apartment 23's Krysten Ritter Lands Lead in NBC's Assistance

Krysten Ritter may not be off the air for long: The Apartment 23 star has landed the leading role in NBC's Assistance pilot.

In the comedy based on Leslye Headland's play of the same name, an idealistic assistant (Ritter) tries to find balance in her life as she strives to please her larger than-life boss.

Ritter, who played the titular B---- in Apartment 23, is also well-known for her roles on Breaking Bad, Gilmore Girls and Veronica Mars. ABC yanked Apt. 23 off the air in January after it failed to perform on Tuesday nights. It was averaging 3 million viewers and a 1.2 rating in the 18-to-49 demographic.

Bachelorette's Headland will write and executive-produce with Saturday Night Live alum Will Ferrell, Adam McKay, Chris Henchy and Owen Burke.
