The path to 33 might not be that daunting for Heat

LeBron James is heading back to Cleveland on Wednesday, which somehow seems completely irrelevant.

That's what a 23-game winning streak does.

It overpowers even the LeBron-goes-home-again story line.

Holders of the second-longest streak in NBA history, the Miami Heat head into Cleveland only 10 games shy of matching the longest run of consecutive victories that the league has seen.

And their upcoming schedule would suggest that matching the record of 33 held by the 1971-72 Los Angeles Lakers may not be all that farfetched.

Five of Miami's next six games are against teams at the very bottom of the NBA. Among the next 10 Heat opponents, only Chicago, San Antonio and New York have winning records.
