(MOBILE, Ala.) - Weekends at the McCoy house are full of laughter.
Like most families, during the week can be hectic. Amy McCoy is a doctor so she has to shuffle a busy career with family time. So when they do have time to get together McCoy like to have a family game night.
"It's a great time to spend quality time together to talk, let to know each other and see how we're doing," said Amy.
Ginger Milligan has been in the business of making kids and families smile. As owner of Fantasy Island Toys in Fairhope, she knows how family game night can be a reconnecting and bonding tool for families.
Milligan says the real key to making family game night work is making sure there are no distractions.
"Don't have telephone or electronics just your children." said Ginger.
McCoy says not only does family game night allow time to bond with her kids but she also tries to make it a learning experience.
