(Mobile, Ala.) June 18th--The kitchen cops are on patrol this week handing out citations and this week would you believe only one eating establishment was cited as a real offender when it comes to the mastering the laws of a clean kitchen.

The Sugar Shack on Main Street in Orange Beach is the only place to hit a "sour" note with health officials this week. They were cited for violations including hot dogs held at dangerously low temperatures; 108 degrees f. State code mandates cooked food should be held at 140 f. or higher.  Remember health experts tell us heat kills what you can't see. Inspector's June 11th report also shows a first aid kit on top of the food and something was wrong with their concentration of sanitizer.

Last time, The Sugar Shack was in compliance, but this time the sugar shack is serving up a below average 76. Alabama state code dictates a rating of 85 out of 100 possible points are needed to pass inspector’s sanitary pop quiz.

A few other eateries on the hot seat last time are cleaning up their act. Cold Stone Creamery at the Pennacle Center on Hwy 59 in Gulf Shores is “churning out” better ratings this week.  Inspector’s June 10th report shows they “scooped” up a score of 92.  Last time they were “left cold” with only 70 points.

On the “move” again Stop –N-Shop located on Hwy 59 in Summerdale. Last time they earned a score of 80.  This week it’s redemption in re-inspection, 93.

Of course we can’t forget our Scorecard Standouts! “Let the good times roll!”  Joe Cain Café’ in Downtown Mobile has a score of 95

It’s a real “wing dinger” at Wings Plus on St. Stephens Road in Prichard, 97.

Good fortunes at Stix Japanese Restaurant in Spanish Fort, 99.

Chick Fil-A has a lot to crow about this week, 99.

Fire House Subs located on Dimitrious Avenue in Daphne, “sizzling” this week with a score of 100.

Quizno’s located on Airport Blvd. in the Stein Mart shopping center serves up back to back scores of 100.
