MOBILE, Ala. (WPMI) Alabama Governor Robert Bentley is saying kudos to the state's auto industry.

He told the Automotive Manufacturers Association today that 2012 was a record year for the state's auto industry and they saw more jobs created.

He says they were crucial in recruiting airbus to the state.

"I don't believe we would have been able to recruit Airbus had we not had Mercedes in 1993. All these companies are very high tech companies, very important to the state of Alabama and we do recruit them,” says Bentley.

Governor Bentley will hold his State of the State address this coming Tuesday February 5th at 6:30 p.m.
