(MYRTLE BEACH, S.C.) A South Carolina mom was arrested at her daughter's Myrtle Beach high school graduation and charged with disorderly conduct.
According to Yahoo News, the school informed parents and relatives not to cheer for individual students during the graduation or they would be asked to leave. Shannon Cooper, the mother, disagreed with the policy saying, "I'm going to cheer, because… I've gone through too much to get her to this point... I can't let her know 'I'm so proud of you?'"
When her daughter Iesha received her diploma, Cooper says she stood up shouting "Yay, my baby made it!" and was then handcuffed by police and escorted outside.
There she was charged with disorderly conduct and held outside in a police van. She was then moved to a detention center where she was held for several hours before posting a $225 bond and returning home.
