(MOBILE, Ala.) The Ove Glove fits on either your left or your right hand and guarantees to extend the amount of time you have holding piping hot pots and sizzling pans.  As the commercial shows, sometimes removing pans out of the oven can be too hot to handle.

Spencer Allen owner of Picklefish in Mobile knows all too well about getting burned, he's had his share.  "Second degree burns with a blister took a week and a half to heal.  It would've been helpful to have a glove," says Allen.

But not just any glove, the Ove Glove hot surface handler with non slip silicone grip.  The Ove Glove is made from the same flame resistant material used by firefighters.  This tough material claims to resist intense heat up to 540 degrees.  And that's about the same temperature Spencer and his chefs use to cook their pizza.  He was anxious to test it out.  But I had to be the guinea pig, the first time around.  It's 550 degrees coming out of the oven, and I didn't feel a thing holding a pan with the Ove Glove on, not even a little bit of heat.

The company says you can use it most places there's heat.  The infomercial shows the Ove Glove searing steaks. It's perfect for hot jobs around the house even arranging logs in the fireplace.  We decided to turn it up a notch on the grill.  Spencer got brave with Ove Glove while grilling a burger.  Don't try this at home.  "I put a little alcohol and had the flames going from the hamburger. I could feel the heat on my face, but on the glove I couldn't feel anything.  It didn't even burn the glove," says Allen.

Allen says the Ove Glove is a deal.

It's machine washable, but make sure it's completely dry before using it. It will not work when wet.
