Slushy Magic promises to be a Super Duper Slushy Maker that is frozen fun for everyone.
Slushy's are always super popular in the Summertime, the makers promise you can make your own at home and save a lot of cold hard cash. The commercial says that you just freeze the magic cubes, pop them in the slushy shaker, add your favorite cold drink, and shake, shake, shake, and you'll instantly transform any drink, into a frosty cool slushy.
To test it out we dropped by Smokey's in Pascagoula, they've been scooping snowballs all summer long. "About 300 to 400 snowballs a day. A lot of times we get people that come two or three times a day. Most people come from the beach and head straight here," says Alicia Springer. Our ice expert Alicia says making slushies and icy's can be tricky. "You can make the ice as hard or soft as you want, so it's kind of fluffy," says Springer.
The makers say no blender, no ice, no mess. You just shake it up and cool it down, any flavor you want, from cola to punch to vanilla pink, even chocolate milk, and yogurt will shake into a slushy surprise.
After reading directions, Alicia put in 3 magic cubes and poured in blue cotton candy juice and shook it up. "My hands are blue and it's getting colder," says Springer. It did spray a little bit. But after a few minutes, she was impressed. "It's kind of like one of those icy's you get at the convenience store," says Springer.
After creating our own frozen concoction, she gave a taste. "It's kind of creamy feeling, more like slushy ice," says Springer. In your opinion is this a deal or dud? "It's a deal," says Springer.
The Slushy Magic costs $10, and the magic cubes are reusable.
