We all agree that most hoses are hard to store, hard to handle, heavy hoses can end up tangled. Introducing The Pocket Hose, a hose so small it fits in your pocket. The makers say you just turn on the water and watch this light-weight hose, grow and grow and grow.
We dropped by construction expert Raphael Maldonado's house, to get him to test it out. He hooked it up to the water; it uncoiled and expanded quickly out 50 feet. "Look at that, nice color. You can shut it off with your fingers; you can't do that with a regular water hose. What makes this so strong and we'll find out is the nylon jacket on the outside of it," says Maldonado.
The bright green jacket is what makes it so unique. The stretchy accordion design promises to prevent holes, breaks, and kinks. The pocket hose also guarantees that when the water pressure is cut back, it quickly will shrink back to its original size, and it worked.
The commercial states that it's strong enough to pull a 5,000 pound SUV. So we gave it a shot. "That's what they showed on the advertisement on TV about the strength of it. So, we tied it on to our vehicles," says Maldonado. Raphael's truck easily towed our news truck. "This nylon is really strong so yea I wasn't that surprised about it, without this nylon jacket on here you can forget it," says Maldonado.
