Wintzell’s Oyster House
Bread Pudding and Rum Sauce

Ingredients:
3 lbs. white bread
7 cups milk
15 eggs
7 cups sugar
5 tablespoons vanilla
2 teaspoons cinnamon
2 cups Better-N-Butter

Method:
Cut bread in small squares. Whip eggs till foamy. Mix all ingredients. Add bread to mix. Mash bread very fine. Place in long 2” greased pan. Cook at 350 degrees covered with foil for 20 minutes. Uncover and cook for 25 minutes. Let cool and cut into 24 squares. Finished product should be moist and spongy not dry and dense.
After squares have cooled wrap each square and date.

Rum Sauce

Ingredients:
1 lb. Butter
2 cups sugar
2 egg yolks
2 tablespoons Captain Morgan Spiced Rum

Method:
Melt sugar by adding just enough HOT water (from coffee machine) to make in a creamy mixture. Mix butter and sugar mixture. Cook on low heat until creamy. It should not be grainy. Let cool. Add yolks and rum.
