It’s a new era in Alabama government. After eight years in office, we said good-bye to Bob Riley and hello to Dr. Robert Bentley. I’m very interested to see what the next four years will hold. We now have a governor who claims he will not take a salary until Alabama’s unemployment rate is at 5.2%; it’s currently a little more than 9%. Some people don’t think that will happen until the end of his tenure.
The entire country is trying to recover from a horrible economy, what will Governor Bentley do to bring more jobs to the state? How will he put Alabamians back to work? How quickly will it happen? A lot of questions, right now, not very many answers. I do know Governor Bentley has a tough job ahead of him, and he will get a lot of criticism from citizens of the state if he doesn’t follow through with his promise.
