We've told you over and over that if you have cable or satellite TV, you won't be affected by this switch to digital television.
So there's no need to get a converter box, right?
NBC 15's Chief Engineer Tim Reid says it's still not a bad idea.
"Especially in this area," adds Reid. "We're all familiar with hurricanes and cable systems do go down, and if your cable system goes out for a week, you're not going to have any TV reception, so if you qualify for the coupons to get the set top converter box, you should go ahead and get those. You will have to have power, but if you have cable and do not have a set top converter box, you have no option at that point."
As Tim told us several weeks ago, these converter boxes will work best with an outside antenna.
If you have questions about the switch to digital TV, you're not alone.
As the deadline approches, so does the sense of urgency to ensure a smooth transition.
"I don't think the confusion has changed, the level is still there, but i think there's more people becoming aware of what's going on and getting the boxes and having to figure out how to set them up."
