Local 15 Morning Anchor Pat Greenwood is part of Local 15 Today from 5:00 to 7:00. The longest-tenured on-air personality at the station, Pat joined the Local 15 team in 1997.
In a business where travel is a way of life, Pat is extremely happy to work in his hometown. He grew up in Mobile graduating with honors from McGill-Toolen Catholic High School in 1990 and graduated Magna Cum Laude from Loyola University in New Orleans in 1994.
His first job took him to WHLT in Hattiesburg, MS, where he served as the station's sports director for 18 months.
A drastic change in 1995 moved Pat to KLFY in Lafayette, LA where he started as a general assignment news reporter, moving a few months later to weekend news anchor. He also served as a back-up sports anchor when the opportunities presented themselves.
In 1997, he got to come home, an opportunity he gladly accepted. He started as the NBC 15 Sports Reporter, then took over the weekday morning anchoring duties ultimately becoming Sports Director in 1999. He made the move back into news in September of 2007.
His awards include Mobile Press Club Best Sportscaster in 2004, Alabama AP Best Sports Program in 2003, Alabama AP Best Sportscaster in 2001, and Alabama AP Best Sports Story in 1999.
Pat has been married since June of 1998. He and his wife Stephanie have four lovely children, Madeleine, Robert, Grace Anne and Mary Linda.
In his spare time, (does he really have spare time?) Pat serves as a guest speaker for schools and various fundraisers. He also hosts SportsDrive, an afternoon sports talk show on WNSP. He's the sideline reporter for the Jaguar Radio Network for South Alabama football games. He also does the pregame and postgame shows on the network and serves as the sideline reporter for the UTV-44 High School Game of the Week.
