Mike Rush is an Emmy-nominated anchor/reporter whose work has received regional, statewide and even national attention. He's been recognized by the Associated Press as Alabama's Best Reporter and twice by the Mobile Press Club as Mobile’s Best Reporter. He's also honored with a prestigious regional Edward R. Murrow award for investigative reporting. Aside from his award winning reporting, you can also see Mike co-anchoring LOCAL 15 News Weekend Edition.

Mike is a native Houstonian who cultivated his career chasing down stories in Cajun Country. His first break was at KPLC-TV in Lake Charles, Louisiana. He began there as a news photographer, soon branched off into reporting, and eventually became the weekend anchor. Next, Mike moved down the bayou to New Orleans to continue his growth as a general assignment reporter for WGNO-TV.

Mike's undercover investigation into hog versus dog fighting led to multi-state raids of the events and inspired laws banning the practice in Alabama, Louisiana and Mississippi. He has also appeared on Court TV, CNBC, Animal Planet and Sirius Satellite Radio to talk about his investigation. The National Press Club in Washington, DC has awarded Mike for his work on the topic. He has also won a National Genesis Award from the Humane Society of the United States.
