Andrea Ramey has been part of the Local 15 News team since July 2006 as a general assignment reporter. She comes from the NBC affiliate in Columbia, MO.

Andrea originally hails from Paducah, KY. But after high school decided to trade in the Bluegrass State for the Show-Me-State, attending the University of Missouri-School of Journalism. Andrea graduated magna cum laude, and while there, received the Stephen A. Trenkmann Award for excellence in broadcast journalism. She was also selected as a national semi-finalist in the Hearst Foundations News Writing Competition.

Andrea started her career while still in school covering the Missouri General Assembly for KMOX radio in St. Louis and NPR affiliates across the state for two legislative sessions. In addition to her radio duties, Andrea reported for KOMU-TV. While at KOMU, she also produced and anchored.

Andrea says her favorite stories to cover are ones that bring a helpful outcome to people.  She hopes to give a voice to those who are not usually heard and to report stories that matter to the community.

When she's not reporting, Andrea enjoys spending time with her family, including her beloved beagle Ellie. Andrea also loves to travel and is always planning her next adventure.
