A couple of storm systems will affect the area this week bringing us chances for rain. The first one arrives tonight with a chance of rain increasing by midnight, areas west of Mobile will see showers earlier. Widespread rain will occur tonight through early Wednesday. The rainfall amounts will be light. Dry weather returns to the area Wednesday afternoon Thursday morning. The second storm system arrives Thursday evening bringing more rain to the area. At this time, the only Mardi Gras parade that may face issues with wet weather will be the Mystic Stripers on Thursday evening, aside from that, rain should only occur between parades.
The forecast for this weekend looks great, including Joe Cain with highs in the 70s under partly cloudy skies. The next storms system will arrive either Fat Tuesday or Ash Wednesday. Timing is still in question on this next cold front, which will be critical for the parades on Tuesday. At this time, dry weather is expected during the day Tuesday, but rain is expected by Tuesday night, with more wet weather into Wednesday.
Stay tuned as the forecast for next week will likely change some. We should get a firm timing of the rain for early next week as we get closer to the weekend.
