A cold front is making its way to our part of the Gulf Coast.  Ahead of it, a warm southerly wind is keeping temps mild, and the humidity is increasing.  Clouds will continue to roll in from the West...and skies should become mainly cloudy by midnight.   After midnight, isolated showers are expected to begin impacting some areas...with rain coverage increasing toward Dawn.   Expect scattered to numerous showers & storms throughout your Thursday morning until about Noon as the cold front crosses our area.  Some storms could be strong or even severe...including damaging wind & isolated tornadoes.  It's very important that you stay weather aware during the day...watching Local 15 & checking our Weather Authority facebook page for the latest on watches & warnings if issued

Regardless, expect anywhere from .25 inches to an inch of rainfall with this system.  Also, the winds will be very strong (even after the cold front crosses) with winds from 15-25mph...gusting up to 30-35mph. So, a WIND ADVISORY is in place for our area on Thursday.

Behind the front, much colder air will move into our area.  Temps will drop into the low-mid 30s by Friday morning...with even colder temps possible by Saturday morning.  So, Winter's Chill will be here soon.   However, it won't last long because temps quickly warm back into the lower 70s by Christmas Eve & Day...with a chance for rain.

Take Care,
Meteorologist Deitra Tate
