WEATHER SUMMARY
While it was an active morning weather-wise with widespread damage in and around Mobile, much calmer conditions are in store. The National Weather Service in Mobile will continue to survey the damage. So far, they've confirmed an EF1 Tornado just north of the Red Cross Building in Mobile. We'll bring you more information as it's made available to us. Cold Canadian Air is already moving into the region on strong NW winds this afternoon and tonight. In the wake of this morning's front, fast winds up to 25 to 30 mph may blow around lightweight outdoor objects, including Christmas decorations. In fact, a WIND ADVISORY is in effect until 7pm this evening. Tomorrow morning you will feel the change as we'll wake up to freezing temperatures. We won't make it out of the mid 50s tomorrow afternoon. Then by Saturday morning we slip into the sub-freezing zone with sunrise temps around 30 in town, with mid 20s possible north of Highway 84.
The moderating temperatures really don't begin until Sunday. Early morning readings will dip into the upper 30s but by the afternoon, with more of an onshore wind flow, we'll climb into the upper 60s. For Christmas Eve, we'll hit 70 with a 40% chance of showers. Then, on Christmas Day, it gets even warmer and more humid as daytime highs top in the low 70s. Plus we'll hold onto a 30% chance of showers this year. We'll continue to fine tune the forecast as the holidays get closer.
