A storm system is getting organized in the Plains. Ahead of it, warm/moist air is being ushered into the Gulf Coast Region. This mean unseasonably warm temps can be expected thru Monday...until a cold front moves across our area. So, highs will reach the 70s, again, for the last day of the weekend.
Aside from the warmth, showers are also possible for Sunday ahead of the previosly mentioned approaching cold front. Only isolated showers are possible for the morning, but scattered showers/storms are possible for the afternoon. The best place to receive the rain will be north of I-10...and west of I-65...those same areas are also under a slight risk for severe storms (which includes damaging wind and isolated tornadoes).
Rain chances go up for our entire area overnight Sunday into Monday as the cold front takes its time crossing the region. In its wake, temps get a little cooler for Tuesday as 60s return. However, a more impressive chill-down is expected behind a cold front that's due to cross on Thursday. So, next Friday & Saturday look to be a bit chilly...stay tuned.
