Much colder weather is on the way to end the week lasting into this weekend! An arctic cold front will move through the region bringing some of the coldest weather we've seen all winter by this weekend. The downward trend in temperatures begins Thursday. It will still be nice, with highs around 60. It goes down hill from there. 50s for highs are expected from Friday into the weekend, with the coldest weather on Saturday and Sunday. Lows will drop to around freezing Sunday and Monday morning, and some 20s north of I-10 are probable. Highs will barely get out of the upper 40s along the Hwy 84 corridor on Saturday, with low 50s elsewhere. Expect 50s areawide on Sunday.
Next week will see a warm-up with temperatures back around 70 by Tuesday, ahead of another cold front that will bring a slim chance of showers to the region. More cool air is poised to move into the region for the middle of next week, although the next batch doesn't look as cold or as long-lasting as the one we'll see this weekend.
