We are about to see a significant pattern shift with cold air from Canada pouring Friday into the weekend. Tonight and Friday will signal the arrival of the colder air. Tonight, skies will be partly cloudy with lows in the mid and upper 30s. Friday will see a mix of sun and clouds with highs in the upper 50s to around 60. The much colder air arrives Saturday. Clouds will increase across the area Friday night as a strong upper level storm system rotates into the region. Cold air will push into the region through Saturday morning with lows in the low 30s north of I-10 to the mid and upper 30s south.

Saturday will be a blusterly with a stiff northwest wind and mostly cloudy skies. Temperatures will barely reach 50 in most areas north of I-10, and with the wind it will feel like the 30s at times. The coldest night will be Saturday night when lows fall into the 20s north of I-10 and low to mid 30s toward the coast. Highs Sunday afternoon will likely only reach the low to mid 50s.

Warmer weather returns next week ahead of the next storm that arrives Tuesday. Monday will be partly cloudy and dry with highs back around 60. Clouds will increase Monday night and Tuesday with a chance of showers during the day. The system will be quick moving, so dry weather returns Tuesday night through Thursday with a brief cool down on Wednesday. Expect highs in the 60s most of next week.
