FORECAST OVERVIEW:
The cold weather of late will be replaced with milder temperatures for the rest of the week. A weak storm system moving in from the west will bring a chance of showers/storms to the area tonight into Tuesday. No severe weather is expected. Most of the rain will occur between early Tuesday morning and into the early afternoon. Dry weather returns Tuesday night through the end of the week, with a brief cooldown on Wednesday behind the cold front, but 70s are expected from Friday into early next week.
TONIGHT - TUESDAY:
Clouds will continue to thicken tonight as a storm system from the west approaches. A chance of showers is expected west of I-65 as early as this evening with rain chances increasing across the entire area by Tuesday morning. Showers and a few rumbles of thunder are expected Tuesday morning into the afternoon hours, ending from west to east as the day progresses. Temperatures will top out near 70 in most areas, cooling back in to the 60s behind the front Tuesday evening. Skies will clear slowly from the west Tuesday night as the storm departs, with lows in the 40s.
WEDNESDAY - FRIDAY:
Mostly sunny skies will return Wednesday and Thursday. The coolest day of the week will be Wednesday followed by the chilliest morning occurring Thursday morning. Expect temperatures in the low to mid 60s during the day Wednesday rebounding to the upper 60s Thursday. 30s and 40s can be expected Thursday morning, followed by lows near 50 by Friday morning as humidity levels rise.
THIS WEEKEND:
Onshore winds will bring humidity levels back up. This will keep overnight temperatures in the 50s Saturday and Sunday morning with highs in the low to mid 70s under partly cloudy skies. Any rain chances will likely stay west of our area this weekend, so at this point, I'm going with a dry forecast.
EARLY NEXT WEEK:
No significant changes from the weekend are expected through next Tuesday. Partly cloudy mild days and mostly clear to partly cloudy cool nights can be expected. 70s by day, 50s by night and remaining dry. The earliest opportunity for more rain comes toward the middle or end of next week.
