A cold front will continue to sag across the region tonight through Wednesday. This front will bring temperatures about 15-20 colder than what we saw New Year's Day. Along with the front, a few showers will be possible tonight through early Wednesday. Temperatures tonight will drop into the 40s with highs in the 50s for Wednesday afternoon. The front will stall offshore Wednesday night with another round of showers expected Wednesday night into early Thursday mainly east of I-65 as a wave of low pressure tracks along it. Most of the rain with this system will stay offshore and into northwest Florida.
After Thursday, no rain is expected through early next week. High pressure will slide over the region, bringing cool days and cold nights. Temperatures near freezing will be possible Friday and Saturday morning with highs in the 50s. Warmer weather returns next week ahead of the next storm which should arrive by next Wednesday/Thursday.
