Looks like it'll be a wonderful weekend to head down to Gulf Shores for the National Shrimp Festival.  The event will run all the way through Sunday.  It's always held the second weekend in October, and it's free to all who want to attend.  It attracts about 250 thousand people each year, so the crowd will be thick.  It'd be a good idea to head down there early to get a good parking spot.  Two stages will offer musical entertainment throughout the weekend, which will be perfect for eating outdoors.

The weekend will bring lots of sunshine with highs in the mid 80s.  The beach forecast looks great as well with a low risk of rip currents this afternoon along with a flat surf.  The surf picks up to one foot tomorrow afternoon.  Then by Sunday it will be higher around 2 to 3 feet.  The water temperature is around 80 degrees.
