Well, it appears the drought has ended across the Gulf Coast. The weekend of the 9th and 10th brought significant rainfall to the Gulf Coast, where some areas saw between 10 and 20 inches. This rainfall led to widespread flooding across the region. It also helped eliminate the drought that has plagued the area for the past year. Here is how the drought situation stacks up as of this week:
For Mississippi:

Notice only extreme eastern Okaloosa county is still experiencing abnormally dry conditions, while southeast MS and southwest AL are all back to normal. Although we didn't need all the rain at once, it was nice to get a good soaker to help with the drought situation!
