It's time to Spring Forward! This Sunday (3/14) is Daylight Saving Time, and you will need to set your clocks forward one hour on Saturday night before you go to sleep. The benefit of DST: we get to enjoy longer afternoon daylight which can lead to less energy used in lighting our homes. Also, many people are reminded to change the batteries in their smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. The bad thing about the START of DST: we loose an hour of sleep the first night.
Since 2007, we have been able to enjoy the perks of Daylight Saving Time for 4 weeks longer under the Energy Policy Act that passed in 2005. Before 2007, DST started in early April and ended in late October. Now, it begins the 2nd Sunday in March and ends the 1st Sunday in November.
Don't worry...we will remind you to Spring Forward this weekend :-)
